National Rifle Association Center - 12 mi NRA's Whittington Center is the largest competition shooting facility in the world. Whittington opens its 33,000 acres for target shooting, hunting, competitions, training and tours. NOTE: Tours are not conducted while people are shooting. Sugarite Canyon State Park - 10 mi 9,600 acres, heavily wooded, mountainous area that contains 3 lakes, two in New Mexico and one just across the border in Colorado. Capulin Volcano National Monument - 30 mi Created by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916. Eight walking trails around its rim.
