Heading the list in the late models was point champion Duane Mahder of Eau Claire . Besides winning the Rice Lake title, Duane also was the point champion of the Wissota Challenge Series
Mahder wins 40th anniversary special race at Shawano! WI - On a windy but warm night for racing, 37 WISSOTA Late Models, 20 Sportsman and 52 IMCA Modifieds gathered at the Shawano Speedway for its 40th Anniversary Race Special. The night showcased a 35-lap WISSOTA Late Model feature in which Eau Claire's Duane Mahder out dueled 23 other drivers to claim the victory. Gary Nelson won the Sportsman feature, while Frank Heller bested a stout group of IMCA Modified drivers.
